About the Speaker

Anupma Harshal W has over 24 years of experience in biochemistry, science education, and community outreach. She is a Foldscope International Fellow, AMR Ambassador, and a strong advocate of frugal science, making scientific learning accessible through innovative, low-cost tools. Over the years, she has conducted more than 350 Foldscope workshops across India, inspiring students, teachers, and researchers to explore microbiology through hands-on learning.

About the Speaker

Dr. Edmund Liang Chai Ong is an internationally recognized physician specializing in infectious diseases, tropical medicine, and general internal medicine. His research interests include HIV, tuberculosis, dengue fever, opportunistic infections, clinical epidemiology, anti-infective therapies, and healthcare quality improvement. He has authored more than 160 peer-reviewed publications, contributed to leading infectious disease textbooks, and collaborates on international research projects across multiple countries. Dr. Ong also serves as the International Global Advisor (Malaysia) for the Royal College of Physicians, London.
